The $5,000 Summer Trail qualifier #5 at Falls gave the anglers a little hot weather break and 17 boats showed up to qualify for the Championship scheduled for August 27th at Jordan Lake. It was a beautiful day with the exception of a little cool rain in the morning! 47 bass were weighed in for a total of 161 pounds which was a little better than the last tournament. Water temps averaged 86 and air temps ranged from 70 to 88 with winds ranging from light to 7 mph in the afternoon. That was a nice break from the heat we’ve been having! Big fish for the day was 7.84 pounds landed by 14 year old Thomas Clifton, from Rolesville, on a C-rig. Pretty good day at Falls.

Ben Cannon & Ken Wall are on a tournament winning roll. They won with 5 bass weighing 20.05 lbs! They used mostly crankbaits & worm rigs to make up their creel. Most fish were caught on Texas and Carolina Rigs along with crankbaits in 8 to 10 feet of water.

The $5,000 Summer Trail qualifier #6 will be Saturday, August 13th at Jordan Lake out of Farrington Point Wildlife Ramp. Teams must fish 4 of the 7 qualifiers to fish the Championship August 27th, so those that have fished only 2 events still have a chance to fish the Championship if they fish the last 2 as a team.
